Songs of The Month: JUNE ‘26

Yves - 'NAIL

This is one of the sexiest fent laced choruses I have ever heard.

nomi.- sweet talk

This song has such a strong groove to it. Those super soft but powerful vocals over this aggressive drum pattern. When it all comes together for the bridge omg, it has the DNA of "one thing" by amerie, with its aggressive beat and beautiful vocal layering. I love this track, I love the break down at the end that feels more in line with a tyler the creator type of arrangement. Eitherway, super good, love this one.

freezer - placer

This track is awesome, immediately it reminds me of the intro to "うずまき" by Machine Girl. It's what I call a "living" track, it has alot of life not just in the energy displayed but the structure, switching from this to that, speeding up, slowing down, gaps then every gap is filled. I love when people do that in music, I love this gorgeous track.

Pan Terra - Eve

I dont gotta say much, just listen to that. This what be playing when Daniel Craig is driving an aston martin in the most exotic location youve never heard of.

Navy Blue - Belladonna

I said before this is the beauty of self realization, this entire project is so strong from its themes to its word structure and word choices, beat selection, everything had me playing the songs 3 n 4 times before going to the next track but this one in particular, another classic from the dynamic duo of Earl and Navy Blue.

Osiaaa - Funny How

I found this guy recently, he has this other really good song called "don' need it" but this one is just so interesting and a little silly. Conceptually right, this shouldn't work at all but it DOES! His vocals come off as if he's rapping while taking a mean drag of a blunt, breath all the way inhaled but creates for this very unique sound that insnares the beat itself, almost as if the beat is rapping on his vocal. I love this track and I hope this guy keeps pushing this sound.

Bb trickz - perrita

I stg I thought this was the cutest lil track, the vocal effects on her already tiny voice combined with this extremely approachable instrumental, I thought it was an adorable soundscape THEN I read the lyrics and suddenly im that white woman who was reading vince staples lyrics and crying lol. The soundscape of this track combined with the subject matter is the definition of contrast, I really fw that.

Gvlli3 - PRETTY

Gv is easily becoming my favorite artist, theres so much style and freedom in what he does. He's memey for sure, but bro really has vocals. I love this track so much tho, if you watch the on the radar when they perform this live, his energy just has you smiling man. I think what I love most about his music is the very clear passion.

M4S - A Ki$s From Your Gun

I love me a spacy nocturnal track man, that late night drive but like a night during a bender na mean, just so much ambience and heaviness to it. It reminds me alot of a bobby raps track, yea this one is special.

Khal!l - THE DANGER

Now I first found out about bro like a few years ago, he had this song on TikTok called Kawasaki which was basically just "provider" by frank ocean. The track was good but to me it didn't feel like inspiration, it felt like hard imitation and I was worried thats where he would leave it like so many young artist do, but lo n behold we are here and my guy has found his identity. Amazing track, amazing very strong vocals, also I can see his non linear approach to composition is genuine, to me this song screams genuine. You dont make something like this ironically.

halo - after i left

This song is driping in so much swag, these new niggas doing sound design, and the visuals he does along side the track, lord,

I FW this song hard dawg

Culture Wars - Dont Speak

I actually saw this an ad for this one, and the first riff i thought of "what you know" by two door cinema club, but yea, nah this song is cool, its so smooth and the breakdown and build up at the end...so good

GAL + LEDOUBLE - OCARINA THEME

This song is so good, first of STOP sleeping on the French, they have been the real innovators in hip hop the past few years, second, I aint gonna write a whole think piece fr but this track is deconstructed trap. Saying that sounds insane but thats exactly what this is. Even down to the video, take away them snares and high hats...such a bold choice, conceptually I love this, sonically I love this, im glad this exist.

Ephraim - Can’t Get Enuff

people always talkin bout "bring back the early 2000s" and yall do, buts all breakbeats and ambient tracks, bro is really bringing it from the song structure to the visuals, this that ringtone era rnb, i love it, runs on runs on runs, stop playin with bro. Self produced and on bandlab!

Boohavinn - North Pole

What a fun song

skaiwater - IPHONE 5

I have this sound test I do, not joking, where I ask, if frank ocean made this, would I rock with it. Because to me frank ocean represents "pure intentionality". Now, I've said two things in the past. I think Playboy Cartis album Music, is his equivalent to something as intentional as blond. Especially with tracks like opium baby that pushed the line on whats sonically acceptable in hip hop. Second thing ive said in the past was that skaiwater is the current gens frank ocean. I love his project #gigi, i think those are phenominal genre blending, just perfect songs. Then this guy goes and makes this album. An album of just opium baby. Its so brilliant that it brings a tear to my eye man.

cosmoh - ball

now, here we are again, another French artist, and yall still playing, them boys like that over there, ima use this song in some other basketball related projects fs

NINOSOSUPREMEY & KAGE - 911*SMOKE

There's so many sub genres in hip hop that you'd have to consume before being able to truly appreciate the gravity of this track. If cant hear, im sorry, im telling you, you are indeed missing out. Its produced by the same guy who made Roddy Ricchs "The Box". Complex flows, complex structure, bold sounds, bold choices. Again, this is pure. "leave the block with more dots than ect.." cmon
